i have a few posts since i got my SVX friday. What is the key fob battery replacement number from radioshack? or what is the equivalent. I took it apart, and it looks like it is 10 button cells stacked in a wrapping.

I was curious about mine and I opened it a couple weeks ago and there was a small single battery that looks similar to a normal AA or AAA battery, just smaller size that fits. I'll have to open it to see what size it is but all I know is it works fine.

The original is exactly that, button cells stacked in a sleeve. The Radio Shack equivalent is a single 12V battery that fits perfectly. The name of the battery is "#23-279 keyless entry system" alkaline 12VDC pkg. of 2, about $7 iirc...

I think they are a AAAA battery. That is a good replacement which will not cost as much as the button batteries. Good luck.
Hi Earl, An "AAAA" I don't beleave Is 12 volts. Radio Shack has a variaety of small 12 volt batteries. If you take the old battery in you will be able to find one that fits. You can also use eight button batteries that are 1.5 volts each. Some owners have posted that the Radio Shack batteries did not work, but I have no idea which battery they were talking about. Take care, BOBB

I looked in the How-To Docs - I thought there was a fix and the battery number there. I didn't find it. I have replaced mine with batteries from Radio Shack. I am not home, but when I get home I can look at the number. :)

I got mine from Batteries Northwest, but they are available at Radio Shack. And no, an AAAA battery will NOT work as those are 1.5V! (AAAA is what the penlight that comes in the owner's kit takes)
