Well funny things they are starting to breed :P.. Its my 2nd fully complete but fully Road going FHI Rabbit (The ORIGINAL SUBARU SCOOTER)

FHI 1965 S102 FUJI RABBIT SCOOTER

MODEL: S102
YEAR:1965?
ENGINE: 48CC 2 stroke single cylinder
GEARBOX: 3 SPEED
ELECTRICAL: 12 Volts with electric START ;D

A little bit of History....
These where sold here as a Victa Scooter. It was imported into NZ in 1960s by J Cameron Lewis & Co., LTD and made up from CKD units, Reassembled in Chch.
They where stored and made up.. Im not sure if this one was imported in 1960 or in a later date?

This one I got was restored about 12 plus years ago. It still runs and when the weather is good it starts on 1st pop.

:)

Granted , but the idea of treating it as collectable is not. :)

subbieat, is the scooter of interest because it is associated with Subaru, or do you have an interested in scooters in general? I understand they now have quite a following and there are several clubs involved.

I recall some 50 years ago, purchasing a Mikoletta for my Company's junior to use for messages and getting about. It was really a step through electric start motorcycle, with 14 inch wheels and really went. The engine was a single cylinder 277 cc piston port 2-stroke and it was capable of 80 MPH. The electric starting system was interesting and rocked the crank rather than rotating it. I had a lot of fun testing what was my new commercial vehicle.:D

Thanks for sharing, Trevor.
