Any ideas on how to diagnostic and fix the rear window defrost system? the light on the switch comes on but the window remains foged.
Does anyone have the link to the complete electrical diagram?
Is there any guide to find the fisical location of any component?
Thanks a lot to everyone.

The complete electrical wiring section for the SVX, including the rear window window defroster section (which starts on page 68) can be found here:

These are exact reproductions of the FSM. Download what ever you need from here. Quite handy:

The defroster in my blue car doesn't work, because the part that connects to the heating element on the glass broke off at some point. It's at the very top center of the back windshield. Have a look at it. I am planning on sticking it back on there with some of this stuff, after I get rid of the tint (too dark): http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-21351-Window-Defogger-Adhesive/dp/B000HBGKWE

if you have a voltmeter or test light you can check for power and continuity right at the strips running across the window. one side of the grid is power and the other ground, very common for the strips running down the sides to get little dings in them and stop working completely. hope you don't have tinted windows as this makes it a lot harder.

Download the Body Electrical Manual .pdf from the above site. The procedure for testing the rear defroster wires is on page 21 and repair on page 22.

I fixed one of my grids with a kit from Kmart. It had a little stencil thing you put over the break and then there was this nail polish looking stuff you painted on it.

My 96 had the same problem when i bought it. Turns out the ground wire was not attached. It's located right by the antenna where it comes through the quarter panel. In the trunk.Works fine now. The body shop that painted the car didn't hook it back up when they were done. Thank god for FSM.
