I see you read 'Atlas Shrugged' by Ayne Rand.
I enjoyed it very much.

I have feedback for you. They won't fit.
The stock SVX projector is 78mm. The inside of the headlamp housing is 3 3/8" tall. The Hella projector is 90mm and according to their specs:
http://www.hellausa.com/maineng/lev1b/lev2bb/images/90mm_dim_full.jpg
the projector housing is 4 inches tall so it will not fit inside the SVX headlamp housing.
The AUDI projector I am using is a 76mm and its housing is only 3 1/4 tall, so it fits inside the headlamp housing.
Sorry to break the news.

Pray to god that you don't drive behind me. Apart from that, good luck with your search.

Hey guys. I really am seriously working with a company on this. They have samples of svx headlights which I sent, and they will have some very very nice lighting options for us in the rather near future.

Enough of the legal stuff. Any headlight mods you do will be technically "illegal" so lets not hear that anymore...

Mike is correct. :) Any headlight mods are intended for track or off-road use only. :D ;)

I would like to say one more and shut up regarding legality issue. If you invest enough money, you can make it comply to any legal standard. I just want to make sure that you guys are aware of the legal issues.
If you get into an accident and if the insurance carrier find out that you have a pair of illegal HIDs, they can drop your insurance on the spot and bail out. Just a thought... I am done.

The same goes for ANY non-OEM lights, no matter how "legit" or "legal" you may think they are. If you get right down to it, if you put aftermarket rims, wider tires, upgraded suspension, or anything in your car you *could* be dropped by your insurance.
I'd like to see some data that reflects your doom & gloom attitude that the insurance in gonna drop you and you'll be stuck holding the bag...

When my brother wrecked my 99 mustang, the insurance guy came out and saw that i had aftermarket things on it. So what did he do? He gave me a higher value for the car in the check they cut me since I had "put some work into it." (That is a direct quote from the adjuster. It all depends on the company, but more importantly, on the adjuster that comes to view the car after it is in the accident.

would those yellow filters on your foglights be considered legal?
;)
Guess what? Considering the height at which the SVX headlight is at, I don't care if its a 4 million candlepower HID xenon light with flamethrowers; it STILL won't be a blinding as all these stupid SUVs running around, ESPECIALLY the SUVs with HIDs. And those ARE legal, for some f*cking reason.
I HATE SUVS.

I can look up the Legal code in IL and I can tell you that they would be legal in IL. Not sure anywhere but then again, I have an IL plate.

They are hard to get, you have to find a wrecked A6 that still has its headlights. Cost depends on the junkyard, but typically they'll be $600-$1,000. You have to do some cutting and welding on the SVX headlight housing to mount them. I'd say its probably about a 12 hour project to switch over and wire up the autoleveler circuit.

If you are looking for OEM HID projectors. I might find you a pair of A6, A4, E46 or E39. Let me know if you are interested about it seriously.

I wish I could right now, but I can't spend over about $250 for the pair. I know that that means NO, but thought I'd throw it out there anyways. How much do they cost anyways? There might be others that are.

you have two choices, pair of Audi TT projectors, or pair of 740. Each pair will probably be about 160-170. I should get the pictures tomorrow.
Who told you its gonna cost over 250??
I am getting a complete HID kit from the guy who sold me A6 headlights, so if you want the projectors, then please tell me in two days, this way i can talk his price down a little.
If you have any question, you can email me directly to andivic@hotmail.com
