Re: Dipping my toes into photography
Those look good.
One of my pet peeves is the horizon not being level, unless thats what you are going for, but yours are close enough to keep me guessing. Either way, forgive me. |
Re: Dipping my toes into photography
^It goes both ways. I wanted the WRX to be level, and the horizon IS level, but the city curves, so thats why it doesn't look like it.

http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...064202ec_z.jpg Canvas rotated -1.5 Degrees CCW in Photoshop: http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...greesCCW-2.jpg ^^ they both look more level to me now... Keep taking pictures!!! I like Pictures!!! Photoshop is awesome, you can fix so much crap with it. |

So here is a few more helpful hints. Color balance: Your blacks in this shot have too much blue/magenta. http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...SVX/engine.jpg Color balance: -18 towards yellow +6 towards green (1 to CCW on this also) http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...ngineFixed.jpg Shadow/Highlight and levels: I like this shot, but it just seems kind of dulled. http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...kin4SVX/si.jpg Shadow: 25% Highlight: 75% - Input Levels: 20/1.20/255 (1º CW). Now it looks like a magazine cover! http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a.../sifixed-1.jpg Hue Saturation: Wouldn't this look better if the red badge had a little more pop to it? http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...9dd382f5_b.jpg Hue saturation. Reds 100% saturation. 94% Lightness. Nice...But that white doorway in the top left the keeps drawing my eyes from the badge.. http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...X/sifixed2.jpg Lets fix that with shadow/highlight. Settings: 5% shadow 47% highlight & Hue saturation: Reds 100% saturation. 94% Lightness. Sweet... http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...edsifixed3.jpg |
Re: Dipping my toes into photography
I don't really do much to my photos w/ photoshop. It's been 4+ years since I've used it and I'm slowly getting back into it

Re: Dipping my toes into photography
All I got is a crappy point and shoot. When it comes to adjusting lighting with my camera its a joke.
I have tweak crap with photoshop just to get a halfway decent looking pic out my pos camera. :/ There is a ton of crap in that program I have no idea about... I just wanted to point out a few of the simple adjustment tools that I use. |
Re: Dipping my toes into photography
Not to hijack again, but I've got a few crappy pictures if anyone wants to mess with them in photoshop, I have no idea how to make them look any better/worse.

Re: Dipping my toes into photography
Out of focus background ( city lights ) look better than the in focus one. Let's see the long shot of the car with the badge brighter....

And I'm liking my city in-focus shots better. Thanks though :) |

All I could do with it is make it kinda of an "artsy" looking image. Crap in = crap out. :/ ------------- I took this pic out my front door last winter with my point and shoot. I didn't like the wires, or the street signs in it, and wanted a more natural colors: http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...pisawesome.jpg I'm a novice at this stuff.. this program must rock in the hands of a skilled photographer. |
