O/T - name my kitty!

she needs a name- i can't think of anything. if it was a boy it would be Wrex, but i'm having trouble with a cool girl's name. no "Roadkill" or anything like that. i'm not a big cat lover - i got it for my wife for X-mas. no "Alcyone" or "Tranny", either :)

geez, that pic turned out horrible! here's one with the lights on....

sfsvx 12-17-2002 09:22 AM

Maybe a picture where the kitty was actually visible would help us come up with something.

All that comes to mind from that one is "Brochure" or "Two Big Eyes". ;)

sfsvx 12-17-2002 09:23 AM

O-tay, that's MUCH better. She's a cutie (I'm a sucker for kitties). Is she kind of orange?

She isn't doing what I think she is on that manual, is she?

mohrds 12-17-2002 09:26 AM

I'm not a cat lover, but here goes:
1. Claire
2. Molly
3. Rhoda
4. Roadkill (couldn't resist)

wasions 12-17-2002 09:28 AM

How 'bout 'Ordinary'.

And GET THAT CAT OFF THAT PRICELESS BROCHURE!

(Sheesh. A brochure just doesn't get any respect anymore.)

Cute cat, Alan.

I named one of our cats 'Maia,' after one of the stars in the Pleiades constellation (the constellation in the Subaru emblem). Since our next cat turned out to be a boy, we couldn't take a name from the same constelletion. We couldn't even settle on a star name, so we named him 'Mika.'

Also in the Pleiades are these stars:

Alcyone
Asterope
Taygeta
Calaeno
Electra
Merope

I kinda like Electra.

Okay, I'm done.

Andy 12-17-2002 09:51 AM

I still like 'Cooking Fat'

Boone 12-17-2002 09:59 AM

Hmm... Escaine? :p

LarryIII 12-17-2002 10:42 AM

Here goes,

1) Julie for orange julius (oruange juice +coconut milk drink)
2) Tang
3) Tangerine
4) Clementine

hey! something in my brain just clicked.. this is COMPLETELY off the post topic, but the post was off-topic to begin with..

I was running down the list of stars and Electra jumped out at me. Obviously it's kind of a cool word, but does anyone remember the Impreza Electra One?? hang on... lemme try to find a pic.. yeah, here we go:

I absolutely LUSTED after this car the first time I saw it.. now it doesn't seem so appealing, but it's still quite a looker. I didn't know at the time that it had been named after another Pleadies.. Plideas.. Pleiadiesy............ star in that cluster..

now I do :)

Kitty names...

I loved larry III's names, obviously a cat lover he is. My wifes' first comment when she saw this was "cute as a bugs ear", which must one of your smaller ears.
Last winter I took in a (now big and fat) furry white cat with two big black dots on his forehead and a black tail. Named him.........wait for it......Domino.
I have an orange tabbykitten, who lacked a name for days after we took him in, then one morning we saw him laying in the sun on the hardwood floor and named him....Woody, because he prefectly matches the floor color, something I found out to my detrement in the middle of the night on a bathroom trip.
That is a very cute kitten, but then again, aren't they all?

"HOLY BIPLANES, BATMAN!" I'm surprised it doesn't do a wheelie just sitting there from the weight of that thing!

CigarJohnny 12-17-2002 12:36 PM

How about Cinnamon?

SVX10 12-17-2002 02:06 PM

how 'bout Svix. Sure the wife would love that (ummm...if that name confuses you, look at the similarity between WReX and SViX. You see, I am using a technique calle....oh nevermind). Hmmmm, a girlie name huh? How about Jason? Oh, wait...girl.

Ummm, Mike is kinda girlie (JK Mike).

OK, honestly this time....shoot, I can't come up with anything. Maybe Svix will somehow win! :)

SHISVX 12-17-2002 02:15 PM

Oasis, since i have renamed my kitty to deathwish
um pumpkin
um cedar
um desert

my best friend just lost her kitty that looked like that, his name was desert, but that can be a girls name too

Kelli

that is a little cutie

Landshark 12-17-2002 03:15 PM

:D Scratchy! why didn't i think of that! or Bitey....:)

Bobb 12-17-2002 08:55 PM

generic cat names

How about "Muffin", "Lefty", "Fluffy", " 8-ball",or "Shorty". Bobb

greg 12-17-2002 09:14 PM

Dunlop

If I ever had a cat I would have to name him/her Dunlop...it is such a descriptive word and the relationship to the tires also implies several things from bouncing off walls, wheelin it, or even hydroplanning across the floors...just a thought though...

MNYPNNY 12-17-2002 10:02 PM

Of course all of our cats have been Siamese or Siamese mixes, but our names have been:
Kahlua
Saki
Tequila
Scotch

Go with a theme.....

wasions 12-18-2002 09:53 AM

I still think 'Ordinary' is, uhm, unique.

Or how about 'Unique'. Then you could shorten it to 'Hey U!' :D

sfsvx 12-18-2002 11:22 AM

Our cats are named Filo and Xena, but if I were doing it over again, I'd name them Whizzer and Pooper. :D
