billet aluminum adaptors to make them fit, but they are too
thick and would make the offset of the rim to negative
closer to a +20mm, ..which would cause some rubbing issues
mininum.

Osmos Orbital (or Orbitale) wheels have been in development for over a decade. Similar designs been on concept and movie cars for quite a while, but recently some custom bikes have actually made their way to the streets sporting these actual units. I suspect that these will start popping up more frequently in the next few years and custom cars will start adopting them. I think it'll be a long time before they appear on any production cars though.

thats one of those things that have to be designed into the car. billy lang built a bike with a hubless rear wheel it looked good.

I will grant you that my photo chop isn't exactly the most amazing piece of artwork. I do, however, still believe that those wheels would look great. The strange empty space should be filled by equally exotic suspension, which is not to say the SVX's equipment isn't excellent, but it's certainly aesthetically lacking.

What is that? a car? a boat? and airplane? a rocket?

Looks like the rear end of something with a 12-cylinder engine. Those headers look neat, but could be a liability.
