Group N vs SVX Nation Engine Mounts?

Hi Friends,

I am looking to put the softest, closest to original, engine mount back into my 1992 LS-L. The car has two torn engine mounts currently, and I'd like to restore the original driving characteristics as close as possible.

Ideally, I'd like to just buy a set of OE and call it a day, but it looks like my new options are Group N or the SVX Nation Metal/urethane mounts.

Curious what folks think of one vs the other. I know both will be harder than stock. Leaning group N because made by Subaru.

Can the WRX STi engine mount be used for the SVX?

So what about the OEM mounts on the Impreza WRX/STi of 2002-2014 ? The factory mounts are probably not that stiff.

Part No is 41022FA091 or 092 and price is JPY6480 for each according to part list. Price may higher.

Hmm! Maybe this is the route I will go, if Gamesy does not get back to me about the SVX mounts they have.

Yes, if you can get a genuine part, even if it is second-hand, I think that that is better.

I don't know if the shape of the engine mount on the WRX is exactly the same as that on the SVX. If the bolt position is just a little different, you might be able to use it by making the hole in the bracket longer.

The EG33 is much heavier than the EJ20, so the load capacity may not be sufficient. The engine mount for the 6-cylinder EZ30R has been reshaped. I don't think it will fit.

Regarding the broken mount, there are companies that will rebuild it.

I would recommend not throwing it away. If you are interested, I can inquire in Japanese to see if it can be rebuilt. There may be a similar service in the US though.

Guys,

About how many miles on your SVXes before the motor mounts started to go?
My SVX milages ranges only from 140,000 to 190,000 miles on all of them. I try to keep it down since they are so old and parts are getting hard to find.

I'm at 186,000 miles (300,000 km) and mine seem to be fine.

Hi Larry, my 1992 has failed motor mounts on both sides at 150,600 miles. The mounts were wet with oil from previous engine leaks
