My nephew's cottage on Lake Lure NC got flooded 3 feet deep on the lower level. All his lake toys floated away but his boat was tied on the boat lift and survived. A lot of boats got crushed by being floated up to the roof of their boat houses. The nearby town was ruined and the lake was covered in debris.
The dam was expected to break and everybody downstream was evacuated but it held.
My niece's place in Florida had minor damage.
