Brake hose
Hello,
My friend is facing a brake fluid leak problem. The OEM brake hose has already been discontinued. I have been considering APP's fully custom-made stainless steel brake hose and recommended it to him. To make it, you need to send the original hose to APP. http://www.app-top.jp/order/ordermade.html I have kept some old, second-hand brake hoses in order to make this custom-made product, rather than throwing them away. Apparently they can make brake hoses that are exactly the same shape as the originals. By the way, are there any recent information available on third party brake hoses? For example, what about Goodridge? Are these exactly the same shape as the originals? The SVX brake hose has a stay to attach it, and some third parties, such as Kinokuni, do not have it. https://www.goodridge.co.uk/products...XoQU-MUbZs7Eu6 |

Re: Brake hose
I bought goodridge recently from their website. They fit ok, though the rear only has one retaining tab vs the two the OE version has.

The left and right tabs have different mounting angles and the left and right rear part numbers are different. 26550PA020 Brake Hose, Front 26550PA010 Brake Hose, Rear Left 26550PA000 Brake Hose, Rear Right I sent the original brake hose that I had previously removed to APP and asked for a quote for a custom-made hose of the quite same shape include tabs made of stainless steel mesh. I hope it's not too expensive. |

Re: Brake hose
I have the Goodridge lines as well, but from years ago. I think this is the same kit I ordered.

Today I got a response from the APP. Kit with stainless tab JPY 42,000 ex tax. Kit with Zinc Plated JPY 37,000 ex. tax. They say the tabs aren't fixed, they just run a hose through the hole in tab. Is this the same for Goodridge? I found SSU0300-4P in eBAY. it is much cheaper though it's tab is not stainless. It may enough to use. |

Re: Brake hose
My friend ordered GoodRidge and also found a rubber hose made by SUNSONG. If you want a rubber hose that is the same as the original, this is an option. There seem to be two rear tabs. He also purchased this. However, the assembly precision is not very good and the positions of the left and right tabs do not match exactly.

Re: Brake hose
Rock Auto has been a savior for some other cars of mine, glad to see they still have some parts for the SVX.

Re: Brake hose
There are additional alternatives for the front hose.
Right : 90947-02C77 Left : 90947-02C78 This hose is for ACM21 Ipsam of TOYOTA, and bit longer. But seems can be use according someone's blog in Japan. This hose is made by TOYOTA-GOSEI, and SUBARU genuine hoses for the SVX are also stamped with TOYOTA-GOSEI. Then, I think it can be said that the quality is equivalent to the SVX genuine parts. It's only $15 so I'll give it a try to get it. |

Re: Brake hose
Great information. Any part that fits is better than none.

Re: Brake hose
The good thing about this is that it is made in Japan. There are several similar parts made in China and Thailand, but people who have bought them say that the tabs are roughly positioned and don't fit very well.
Furthermore, the durability of Asian rubber is unknown. Personally, I'm interested in the Goodridge with its Teflon tube and stainless steel mesh, but if you can get something of the same quality as the original for $15 it would be good enough as a spare. |
