Question Not svx but suby question on differential

Can some one tell me how to check the rear differential gear ratio in a 1990 subaru legacy. I have to do a transmission swap from a 1990 legacy wagon to a 1990 non wagon. Both auto transmissions. I just want to make sure that they didn't put different gear ratios in these cars. Is there a way to check with out having to tear the differential apart to count the teeth? I know that this isn't an svx question but you guys are the best here and hope you could help. Thanks.
