Best bet for brake rotors?
I am tired of my vision going blurry every time I step on the brakes now. Need to replace the warped rotors.
Was thinking of going slotted up front and standard in the rear. Can anyone report on the quality of the slotted rotors sold by motorsport warehouse? Is the Centric brand okay for the rears? Thanks,

Re: Best bet for brake rotors?
When I have changed from stock rotors, I have used slotted and dimple drilled rotors and the stainless brake lines. It will stop like a new car. Or at least the way it should. I have been very happy with that combination on any car I have done that too and I know many members who have done the same and been very happy too. Good luck. I can't really comment on Motorsport Warehouse rotors, because I have never purchased them there.

Re: Best bet for brake rotors?
i got mine from the ebay stores which are local to me lol.
i got cross drilled fronts and crossdrilled slotted rears, they work like a charm. downside is most of those stores dont have Rears in stock, they said if i could get 25 orders they'll make the rears.

Re: Best bet for brake rotors?
I just go with NAPA ceramic pads and premium rotors on my car. That'll change if I start tracking or auto-x'ing it, but for street driving it's plenty. I just did all four corners on my parents' Forester for $260 (but I get shop rate on parts. I think the rotors were $35 each front and $23 each rear.)

Re: Best bet for brake rotors?
DBA- Disk Brakes of Australia has a few sets of series 4000 rotors, front and rear, in the States .
If you are interested, let me know, I'll find out which dealer has the stock. The national sales manager wants one dealer to handle the rotors for us, as the inventory is low due the demand. DBA is not one of the low-cost brands available, but DBA has one of the best reputations worldwide .

Re: Best bet for brake rotors?
I am not an expert by any stretch but I can tell you what I read. First, I went with Centric cryo-treated rotors on the front of my Tribeca. So far so good but not many miles yet so I can't say for sure it will hold up when they get thin. But, the cryo approach seems plausible to me. On slotted and cross-drilled, I read that cross-drilled is better for anti-warping as it is better for keeping the rotors cool. I read that slotted is good for wiping the pad surfaces clean to reduce brake fade. However, some people say it wears down the pads faster. Some also say that cross-drilled may not be better than solid because, while it does aid in cooling, it removes material and mechanical strength. Still, cross-drilled rotors seem to have established themselves and that is my plan when I need to replace the fronts on mine. The rears will be Centric cryo-treated for sure. That should be good enough for my everyday driving.

Re: Best bet for brake rotors?
Great, thanks for all the advice. It would seem that there are a number of good options out there.

Re: Best bet for brake rotors?
The DBA have their patented KangaPaw cooling vents. The rotors are available plain, slotted, or drilled/slotted. Slotted rotors are directional, R/L
