Welcome. The dash vid doesn't match because that's not the origional dash. The barcelona red 94's did not come with the option for a grey interior, thus had been replaced at some point. The engine bay and door jam vins are a bit more permenent.

I don't know what the final drive is in the car I purchased, but it seems to have the 'legs' to match my STi, which has an extra cog in the gearbox. I'm hopeful the SVX will cruise well. But first I have to get some items attended to.
You have a 3.90 with a trans out of a 2003 WRX. You can get 28mpg cruising at 70 on the highway all day long. It has a lot of pep, but still tall enough high gear to be comfortable on the highway, and still make it to 100mph with ease for short bursts.

My own current wild-assed idea is to plunk an H6 in the back of my Honda Fit and make a mid-engine monster out of it, if just to freak out all those tailgating FSP's who think that just because it's small, it must be slow.
You might also consider teh H6 in a vanagon, there's swap kits for it even, and a few have been done.

If it wasn't grey, then I assume it was beige? I'd love to have that back!

Great information, thanks very much. I'm still feeling my way through this car; it was a bit of an impulse buy.

The worst engine in a vanagon was the SVX engine, highly NOT recommended

Re: Every member please check in here!

Wow first I have seen of this thread.
My name is Gene, I see there already is one here. I live in North Central North Dakota, about a stones through from Canada. I bought this car almost 3 weeks ago I didn't even know about this forum till about the time I bought the car.
I have a 92 pearl and black LS-L. It is in very good shape all things considered. Had 131544 miles when I got it, now just about 134k. Just about completely stock I believe. Security system did not work I just changed it out for one from a 94 works perfectly.

Contrary to some information above, ALL 94 Barcelona Reds EXCEPT the LSi came with gray interior. ONLY the LSi had the tan.

There were more models in 94 than any other year---LE, L, LS and LSi.

Hey, another Iowan! Sweet. I'm from just south of Iowa City, a town called Kalona. You're the 4th or 5th one I think I know of on here. We should make a mini-meet out of it sometime!

Name is James I have a '92 LSL that is pushing 155,000 miles. She is all stock except for the 5sp my brother swaped into her. LOVE the car, but she burns oil like she burns gas so she is currently resting under cover, but does get drove a few miles every few months.

Re: Every member please check in here!

I just joined recently. My husband, John, and I just bought a '95 SVX L AWD a few weeks ago. It will be a dd/winter car, along with our '95 outback. We only drive our 2 Stealths in the summer.

Re: Every member please check in here!

Hi, I'm Karl. I live in Machesney Park, IL. Recently bought my 1992 SVX LS-L Touring from Brad in Waukesha, WI who's also on here but I can't remember his screen name. My car is a bit rough but it still runs all right... I've wanted an SVX for a long while and he gave me a killer deal on the thing. I'll eventually get up some more pictures and stuff of it but I'm hoping that it will turn out to be pretty decent when I'm done with it. Glad to have found this place and see that, even though small (not as bad as the support for the old turbo Chryslers I used to own though!), there IS an aftermarket support for these things.
