NO!!!!!!!

The RIAA can burn for all I care. Most new music stinks.

exactly. not to mention the fact that you can create and mix an entire CD in your bedroom. no band or musicians necessary. i actually have this dumb 'MTV Music Generator' for my PS2 that i was messing around with for about 10 minutes and i made this really professional sounding song. any moron can do it.

MTV has killed music.

Downloading

While everyone's on the subject of downloading, does anyone know of a good web-based mp3 program or website (not a p2p or gnutella)? Unfortunately my college has a program known as packetshaper (or something like that) that reduces p2p downloads to 1kb/sec, but I can get up to 80kb/sec off the net.

P.S. Although spybot is especially good at finding spyware it is also good at finding system files it thinks is spyware (thus causing problems). I myself use ad-aware pro, only finds the true garbage (although maybe not as much as spybot).

Record Industry Assoc. of America.

They are the big man behind all of your CDs. They take most of the profits from any CD or album, and give the artist about one dollar, while they take everything else. In the production of CDs, the most expensive item is in fact the little 'booklet', the rest of it is just ludicrously cheap. The CD itself costs around 50 cents, the case about 10 cents, the booklet around 1 dollar, and that's pretty much it. About 1 dollar goes to the artist, and the rest goes to the RIAA.

Screw the RIAA.

I'm not purchasing another CD until they quit treating people like crap.

OH,

BACK IN THE DAYS OF 45 RPM VINYL RECORDS (1950's),WE USED TO TAPE RECORD OFF THE RADIO AIRWAVES (AM ONLY) BEFORE THE DJ's LEARNED TO TALK OVER THE BEGINNING AND END OF THE SONGS.

YES KIDDIES, LARRY iii WAS THERE IN 1954 WITH HIS TRUSTY AMPEX TAPE RECORDER AT THE BIRTH OF ROCK & ROLL; OR AS WE CALLED IT BACK THEN, "RYTHYM & BLUES."
"EARTH ANGEL" BY THE PENGUINS ON THE DUOTONE LABEL IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE FIRST OFFICIAL ROCK & ROLL SONG. IT WAS RELEASED AND PLAYED IN THE FALL OF 1954.

PS: Sorry about the fonts, I didn't realize that the cap lock key was on.

This here seems to be the premier anti-RIAA site, for anyone who's interested.

http://www.boycott-riaa.com/

These guys hate the RIAA so much, they even sell anti-RIAA coffee mugs. I think I'm gonna pick one up.
