the blue two tone pictured DID IT RIGHT
For the car to look right with a black hood, it NEEDS to be dont tht way. The natural hood line is too narrow for the back, and taking the line across the fender leaves you with an incomplete feeling. Getting right by the window molidings, and seperating it with a pinstripe is perfect..it really sets it off. (Im pretty sure I sugested doing something like that in the thread linked a few posts ago.....and the paint on the blue looks REAL fresh...wonder if they had read it)

I LIKE that. It's a bit over the top on the Blue, but on the "arrest me" Brilliant Red. it ought to do what I'm looking for, and tone it down a touch.

I agree with huck369. By taking the black to the hood, fenders, etc. it hides some of the lines which give the SVX it's distinctive look.

I find the cut lines surrounding the windows a bit jarring on a red SVX. Add to that the visual weight of the LSi spoiler & you have an SVX with a serious case of "chunky butt"
Here's quickie Paint chop of what I'd like to do to "lighten the load" so to speak.  Don't mind the sloppy work I'm no photo chopper, if you are & wanna clean this up please do. I'd prefer to go with the standard SVX black two tone, but that'd get spendy. I can do this at home with spray paint & make it look GREAT.

No matter what I do, I'll lay it out in pinstripe tape to give myself a few days to get "used to it"
I do like the idea of painting the mirrors black & angling it down to the sill line, ala XT I'm not looking to compromise Gugario's masterpiece, just reduce the visual bulk at the rear, without removing the spoiler. That was his intent with the black two tone. That bulk is most apparent on a red car. The darker teal, and polo don't show it as badly.

Eh, no black two tone if you have the tan interior...It just doesnt look right. Simple way to remove the visual weight...Take off the spoiler. Done deal. The holes lead outside the trunk weatherstrip..so it wont leak.Also..put the antenna down...
Now...a medium bronze two tone...dunno if that'll have the lowering effect, but if someone woulf photoshop that, Id be intrested to see the turnout
