I mean the knob by the shifter that lets you point the stock headlights up and down. We didn't get that option here in the states.

Sean, the tyre should have been worn out differently, but it was rolling on the road on this very edge for 5 years and at temperatures exceeding 125*F.

Yes the Z was in Qatar, a country with very dry weather. The date on this one is 0406, January 2006!

Sean I replaced all 4 with 4 new Ecsta's and I love each minute of it on the Lebanese ugly, steep, curved... roads

Why the dash kit? The dash looks to be in perfect shape.

Agree... the simulated wood trim looks great with the dark charcoal gray color that only came on Euro and Japanese SVX's.

The aluminum dash kit is a glue on type of design that just look cheap and aftermarket... more ricer Honda civic than classy SVX. Your interior looks fantastic. Don't do a thing.

Hm yeah, I'll make the call when I actually retrieve the car.

I had no idea euro spec cars had tilting headlights. What are they used for? To extend or shorten the beam range? Once I get the car I will go through it and document things in detail and see if I can make a proper spec list. There were only 7 cars sold in Norway so it will be interesting to see if there are any deviations from other markets.

The passanger side airbag was extra in europe from 1994.

Exterior is a bit "disappointing" in the sense that it's Bordeaux/Claret which is not to my taste, there's quite a lot of stone chips on the bonnet. I'm really considering a full respray but it's very expensive and I want to spend on the engine and drivetrain first. Since the shops said it was in really good shape I'm just eager get it "perfect" and tuned to specs so it's actually ~230hp, not 190

Someone has mentioned foil as an alternative to an actual respray but I'm not sure how that's going to work if something starts to rust under that.. or if it's much work getting the foil off when I do the respray.

I admit I read magazines like Classic and Sports Car etc so I'm keen on a full "restore"... will have to see how much I really want to spend

Bordeaux is a handsome color. If considering a change, possibly paint the roof and trunk (boot) Black to avoid the cost of a total color change?

Re: I just got up this morning and bought an SVX

The adjusting headlights are to adjust the headlight beam when the trunk is loaded down (presumably with luggage) and the rear lowers down from the weight making the front end higher and therefore sending the beam of light into oncoming traffic's eyes. However, this feature seems to almost never be needed for most people.
I am probably one of the few that would ever have a need for it.

Congrats on your new SVX! The interior looks nice, I wish my drivers seat was in that good of condition.

Also is that Firebird in the garage yours too?

Ah yes, seems handy. I do occationally load up.

As for the colour.. I guess I'll just have to wait until I see it washed and polished. Fantasies are for now, decisions for later.

Thanks a lot for you input, guys! Can't wait to post pics of a clean car
