I hit about 127 once which was pretty scary, but I didn't have very good tires at the time. I certainly wouldn't sustain much past 115 for very long. It's too dangerous. There are lots of stupid people on the road, some of whom will eventually cut you off.

Exclamation Faster and Faster!!!!

I think that the fastest and most scary thing that I have ever done in a car was in my Junior year at Oak Ridge Military Academy. My friend's mom had just bought him a new car, a 1999 Mustang Cobra convertable.... Wes( my friend ) let me drive it. I took that thing down a back road that we drove to each other's houses at it's max speed..... 156mph!!!! Let me tell ya, it was a thrill like no other, but I almost pissed my pants when I realized how fast the stop sign was comming up.... So I slammed on the breaks and was pinned in my seat belt so hard I almost passed out!!!! I had to sit there at the stop sign for about a minute or two to get my head back together.... I think that one of the amazing things was that I had just shifted out of 4th gear into 5th when the speed limiter cut in!!! I know it had lots more to dish out if that limiter wasn't there. And that little 4.6 DOHC V-8 is the only american engine that I love.... So powerful and revs like crazy!!! For the whole year that he had it he srove the hell outta it and it always got right around 24mpg!!!! That was awesome!!!. ......

But as far as my SVX goes I did go 130mph in it once but it was because I was recalled by my Squadron when I was on leave.... They had an emergency deployment recall ( that turned out to be a drill!!!!! ). So I came flying down I-95south at about 130mph for about an hour. Then they called me back and told me that it was just a drill!!!!! Ha, I was pissed... You'd never seen a Lcpl. yell at a SSgt. like that before for telling me that I had to be there in 2 hours when it was a 4 1/2 hour drive from Greensboro, NC to Beaufort, SC..... I was right but I paid for my baligerance, had to stand duty the following weekend... We learn the hard way sometimes...
