I use mozilla development releases (not firefox but full version mozilla) - haven't had a popup in a long time.

FIREFOX SPEEDUP TWEAK

1. Type "about:config" in the adress field.
2. Set the value of network.http.pipelining to "true".
3. Set the value of network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to "100" or "200"
4. Set the value of network.http.proxy.pipelining to "true"
5. Set the value of nglayout.initialpaint.delay to "0"


The last line, "nglayout.initialpaint.delay", this entry needs to be created as it doesn't exist by default.
To create a new entry, right-click the other entries in the window, select "New" > "Integer", and paste in "nglayout.initialpaint.delay".
Set the value to zero -- "0".

I don't htink you can anymore. Maybe you have to a paid user though. I used to use Ooutlook Express to check my hotmail but they stopped allowing that. If anything, you would have to subscribe to their paid service then maybe you can setup outlook or Thunderbird to check web-based mail.


Also, Thunderbird rocks. Very cool.

yeah i heard they did that but for some reason i still can. and they just upgraded my account to hold 250mb i haven't subscribed to their pay service so i dont know whats going on.

True. Hopefully, these excellent downloads and such will give the team reason to work hard and keep the platform strong.

I read that the Department of Homeland Security even recommends using Mozilla-based platforms instead of IE because so many virii target the IE platform.

Opera users are unusually quiet...


Opera is by far the fastest browser I have ever used- I keep IE, Firefox, Opera and Netscape on my machine - I rarely use anything but Opera.

Any tips for loading pages faster on a mac, I have firefox 1 on osx 10.2.8. Ebay takes almost a minute to fully load w/56k
