Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Putting the heads on another engine this afternoon. I'm getting good at this game.

This time I wont put cams in upside down.

This time...

I haven't seen the inside of my car for three months, and hoping for the best when I do on Saturday.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Pulled more power steering fluid out to re-level it. Still seems to be in excess which is probably causing the terrible screeching. Will see...

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Well today I brought her out from her winter slumber.
Got my tires rotated. Had a blown brake light. Replaced all rear bulbs.

When I saw these while at the auto part store, I couldn't resist.
The kid in me just wont grow up..

I had the stock floor illumination blubs covered in red stage lighting gels before this. This is at least twice as bright.
The dome light and door lights are still stage gels. You can see them in that last pic.

It looks kinda orange and over exposed in the last pic because the pic was shot at 11:30pm, long shutter and all that.
Plus car drove by, nice tail light blur..

I dig it, but is it on a switch?

Sometimes I like to turn all the lights down at night and drive in interior stealth mode. I can't be the only one. :P

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

They are hard wired into the floor illumination blub wiring. It comes on when you open the door. just like the stock lights do.

The stock light fixtures are still there, and I can plug the white blubs in at the same time if i want them.

All the lights are wired as stock and dim as would normally.

And yes the LED dim like the stock lights when you turn off the car and shut the doors.

So far I like them. will see how long they last.
They are 3M self adhesive, just stick them where you want them.
I want another set to mount under the back of the front seat to light up the rear seat floor.
That way my friends stop stepping into the center console when I stuff them in the back seat.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Did the Head Gasket replacement...
With...
A so called "low mileage engine" from Japan by way of California. My "burgundy looking thing" passed 200K and needed help with summer coming on. Didn't push out the coolant in cool weather, but does in hot weather.

For all you doubters that I am optimistic, i live in western Washington state! (hot weather)

Runs Great so far... 40 miles
