Ok, I r&r'd the manifold with rtv. I used "super black" so it will take a while to dry but baring any unforseen problems it should be ready to crank up thursday to take to bradenton for some 1/4 mile test and tune runs.
On a personal note, now that it's done it's kind of hard not to stand around staring at it. |

I stopped by the shop tonight and started her up. The bypass design is golden. At the factory idle we now have zero rattle. Tomorrow I will tune out the performance issue. It looks to be ignition timing rather than fuel.

Ya, it just needed more ignition timing. I did some work on the ignition table tonight and got it running well. I'll put it on the dyno tomorrow and finish up the table changes and get some power read outs.
The poor tired old engine in my car doesn't see 7 lbs with that pulley like MikeCG's does. I see 5 lbs. I may put on one of the larger pulleys and see how that runs tomorrow. |

There's no dyno time available today but I will go ahead and test out the larger crank pulley on my car today and get prepped to do some runs at bradenton tomorrow.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate and not be too hot or humid out there.

Good to hear it Mike. Were the knock sensors actually picking up knock from the blower or was that just an assumption??

I haven't hooked them back up yet to make sure that they were not but the timing table was at least the main reason there wasn't enough timing. There was some flutter on the knock sensor signals before I put the ground wires on but that was most likely caused by my fluttering voltage. I didn't have the right size lugs to put a ground wire to the alternator at first; the alternator needs a ground going to it since the powdercoated bracket does not make a good one. I was tuning without the knock sensor signals yesterday. Today I will tune with them.

Ya I spoke with him yesterday. I'm shooting to express mail the results of today's tuning to him at the hotel so that his stage 3 car can make a good showing there. I hate for his car to be there not performing while my car is tear *ssing around town down here.
