Some dyno plots are in my personal folder. The 9lbs is my car, and the 12lbs is Toms. It looks like I may be leaking some boost. Toms ran great, but mine the fuel/air ratio was all over the place. My idle seems a little rough too. Guesss I'll be looking into a few things.

I am very happy with the way the car is performing on 12.5psi running the version G software. It made more peak HP and TQ with the version 1 software but the curves were not smooth at all and it jumped all over the place... The version G is the way to go... Regardless of engine load RPM or selected gear, when I hit the gas I get 12.5psi... it holds strong... and pulls like a mad man... Now I only have to get to 25psi

So would that work out to about 325hp/365tq at the crank assuming 25% drivetrain loss?

Well I am thinking it is closer to 300 crank HP and 320 tq... The guy who ran the dyno, Andy was telling me that stock STi's run 250-255 wheel hp and tq so I am really only making STI power with a couple extra ft. lbs... there is a lot more to be had out of this motor, just not with N/A internals

OK, so maybe 300hp and 345tq then.
Now what would happen if the boost was upped to, say, 16lb on the stock internals?

just a rough guess.... BOOM
Unless you are running race fuel or some kind of water/meth injection. Which is not far from reach in my car... I have the water injection kit from SVXRide but I think I am going to go ahead and buy a different one... Any more engine work comes after I fit the Brembos on the car and I do my Koni/GC Tom |

I just got off the phone with MikeCG and he said he sent me some files so I can make some useful overlays and what not which I will do soon. I was just looking at the plots in his locker and my initial impression is that Tom's car is exhaust limited.
I think dual 2.5 or 2.25 exhaust will show big time power gains. |

I've brought alternator tensioner hardware home with me for Tom because I know he needs it. I used a hand file to widen the slot on the bracket I'm using to accept the 10mm bolt so I can say with certaintly it won't be a big deal for you to do the same Tom. That said, I'm going to widen the slots on the brackets I have with the mill, add a gusset to the 90 degree bend, and add a small piece of angle on the top for another mounting point to engine just under the timing covers. Then I will send everone new brackets and tensioner hardware assuming you will return the old parts to me so I can revise them too.
The pictures aren't great but if you look hard enough you can make out the gusset in the left hand corner and the 10mm bolt on the right hand side with the head downwards, a nut against the top of the block, and prevailing torque lock nuts on either side of the bracket. With this new hardware you just turn the bolt with a 17mm socket to adjust the tension then lock the nut against the block with a 17mm wrench to lock in the adjustment (much sturdier and much easier). |

Ok, I've gotten the drive gears done for my fellow automatic drivers. I'll ship them with the new alternator brackets/hardware as soon as I finish those up.

Cool... I didn't realize you were making those... Did you get a chance to get that 9lb pulley in the mail?? I should have my new engine in this week
