Also, i will be using a drycell battery, and it fits in the engine bay just fine.

BTW... A mkiv supra turbo intake fits perfectly to the fender, just flip the coupler on its side!

are you sure that FMIC is going to be big enough? I am told that Mr. SVXFiles tried running one of similar size only to find that it was too restrictive....

I was curious because I'm thinking of trying one of the Odyssey PC925MJT batteries.

Got the oil pan off to run the return today, and on a good note the rest of the parts showed up. The Greddy Oil filter adapter is pretty handy. Got my couplers and T bolts as well.
I Took my time in cleaning everything in the parts cleaner, and getting the old gasket off the block and the oil pan.

my core is 3.5 inches thick, 26 inches accross, and 6.5 inches high....endtanks are 2.5". this thing is efficent to 500hp (proven, we have run 480hp on this core without heatsoak on a dyno)

Its 6.7" long x 7.1" wide x 5.0" tall. Weighs only 26 lbs. 380 CCA, but 925 pulse crank amps.

The one I had installed, and then removed is 2,7/8" thick, 21" across, and 6,1/4" tall, has 2,1/2" end tanks, and is supposed to handle 500 HP (the HP rating is from memory).
It did slow me down and choke the flow ALOT, but with an axial vane SC, there is really not enough heat to worry about.
With my (5) phenolic spacers, and the 3" X 48" exposed aie transfer tube, the intake manifold never got over 170f, on a close to 100f degree day!

ya a few lbs on a centrifugal shouldnt require that. If that did end up being a restriction, then it is most likely do to the size of the runners, or it was actually creating a too much of a pressure drop from being too large. Either way ya your probably better off without it.

Iwas at 7-7.5 psi when I installed it, and about 4.5 after the installation. I do know that it is not too big causing a pressure loss.
Where i measure boost is in the airbox, just outside the throrrle body.
After I changed pulleys and intake tubing again I was hitting up to 9 psi at WOT.
I believe the restriction was the tiny air passages in the intercooler.

Ya, the air passages looked narrow in the picture that guy posted. Phil's looks to have a much larger cross section. The passages are much thicker and wider. Of course there should be a fair pressure loss with an intercooler. That's kind of the whole idea. With a turbo's abiatic efficiency around 65% 35% of the pressure increase is due to heat-the job of the intercooler is to remove that heat so if it were completely efficient you would loose 35% of your manifold pressure while maintaining the same intake volume.

ya, whomever quoted you 500hp for that intercooler was way off. The passages are tiny. what kind of car did that come off of?
comparison for you:
