-What year would you prefer to celebrate the 20th Anniversary
Title says it all...
We have to decide on a year before we can decide on a location... Whatever year it is determines what year Reading XII isn't. .

Re: What year would you prefer to celebrate the 20th Anniversary
I voted no preference as it doesn't make a difference to me. I just want it to be thoroughly planned and thought out.

Re: What year would you prefer to celebrate the 20th Anniversary
We should celebrate the entire model year of 2012... whether it starts in june of calendar year 2011, or whenever.
Of course, a better celebration would be if Subaru would produce a new one, and do it truly well.

Re: What year would you prefer to celebrate the 20th Anniversary
Very much agreed John. I was slightly disappointed about a couple things at Reading this year however I didn't let it affect how much fun and a great time I had.
It truly does come down to meeting people, but the truth is that most people want to know that when they come from many miles (like me) they want to know that there will be things to do and some details pertaining to the event.(unlike me as I just love talking to my SVX friends for the most part) |

With 6 months to go until the 20th Anniversary year begins, there has been absolutely no progress on this at all. Interest seems to be non-existent If its going to happen, planning has to start NOW! The 10th anniversary took almost a year to make it a reality. Otherwise, here is the alternate reality: . .

What kind of stuff needs to be decided and what needs to be done? If you have some specifics, maybe I can help.

Re: What year would you prefer to celebrate the 20th Anniversary
Ten years ago, I thought it would be neat to try and reenact the original introduction of the SVX to Subaru dealers, but I never posted anything at the time. You know, the same Subaru regional reps, blockmen, promo teams, with the same vidoes, literature, etc. It would take input from dealers that could say, "Hell, I was THERE!" But we could put it together!!
Now we have another anniversary coming up. I was unable to make the one in Indiana, but I would like to try again. Wow, that ten years went fast!! So you dealers out there; do you remember that wonderful day when the Subaru reps did their official rollout presentation of the Love of our Lives??? Let's here your stories! And by the way, what ever that year was, is the year I would vote for. Thanks everyone, SVXPAC 1994 Emerald Green LSi #101685 with 201,148 miles. Re: What year would you prefer to celebrate the 20th Anniversary
Maybe if mods/admins actually communicated and got something together as would normally happen on other forums. It's the responsibility of the mods/admins for getting meets together. And is how it is normally handled with other car groups/forums. This forum and community has lacked leadership from the ones who should be leading with getting events and excitement together lately.
Here is a thread started over 4 years ago trying to get things together for the 20th forum and everyone is told that the admins and mods here would handle it and rejecting any outside help. Yet when Reading, and the anniversary events flop, the blame is put back on the members for not volunteering and helping. There are many, many problems with this community and forum. I have begun to realize this over the last year and it's led me to drift away from wanting to be productive in general here. People speak and want certain things, and it gets ignored. "Major" updates and changes to this forum have been promised for nearly as long as I've been on here, yet nothing "major" has changed. There is nothing new or exciting being done. Take this however you like, but this is meant as constructive criticism. Quit being hypocrites and do what you say for once! |
