Angry stupid window!

Howdy Howdy,

As I was exiting my car this morning, I was rolling up my driver side window when I heard a lovely clunk.....you know, the one that usually costs money. Anywho, the little cable that I am guessing moves the window up and down is not catching the actual window. What is a fella to do now? I have it all apart so any kind of help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Danny

If you have it apart, reattach it.

my thoughts exactly

I dont know if you know much about the operation of windows or not, not many people do, and they vary from car to car. your best bet is to open up the drivers side window and watch the operation of the mechanism in there, then you'll know exactly how it works, then go look at the non working one, and see what it is not doing that the other one is. then you'll know what you have to fix

Look inside your door for a little broken plastic thingy (technical term )

now look on the other door where that little plastic thingy is supposed to be. That's how I figured it out on mine.

The part may be called a "Sleeve Lock" and the part number might be 62101PA081 but that's just what I got from a thread in the "Wanted or For Sale" forum.

I actually ordered the part today because I'm curious if that's the right one or not.

drivers window clunk

mine did the same thing on my 93 today......
went up fine.....then at the top went "clunk".....
only way to move it up or down now is to put both hands
on either side of the window and manually do it..
Anthing I should know before I take the panel off ?
thanks.....Dayle

not really, except maybe have the sleeve-lock regulator on hand first. It's really easy to change out.

Here's a recent thread where a couple of us described a temp fix until the part arrived (assuming it isn't available locally to you).

What was wrong with the old gear on gear style like the Loyal? No stupid cable or sleeve lock to brake.
