Speaker?

So my passenger side door speaker is on its way out. Not competely blown but, on the way. Anyone know what kind of speakers would fit into the stock enclosure? I really dont feel like taking a hack saw to the door panel. Thanks

P.S. Is it possible for the dash tweeters to both be out? Some kind of fuse or something? Because I don't think theres anyhting coming from them...I know next to nothing of the intricacies of car audio, as you can tell

Well, Best Buy says that it's a 6 1/2" speaker.

The front speakers are a bit of a challenge for an audio novice. They're spot welded to an adapter that mounts to the door. You'll need to drill out the spot welds and pry the speaker from the adapter, and mount the new speaker to the adapter. I believe there's a how-to for this somewhere.....

And yes, they're 6.5's up front, 6x9's in the rear. The rears are more complicated than the front!

PM me if you need any other help and I'll try to walk you through it with more detail.

Actually, due to the adapter, the front's are actually smaller than 6.5s, however the hole in the door is for a 6.5

Thanks fellas. I'm going to take a look tonight to see if I really care enough to go through all the potential trouble

I am quite sure i fit my 6.5's into the front bracket with the drilling method..
i think the hole in the door has only three mounting holes and is bigger than 6.5, hard to fit a speaker to.
But I am not 100% sure.
The how-to is really thorough and helpful though.

It depends the size of your speaker. A lot of the shallow 6.5's will fit but I had a CDT mid that required a custom fabbed mdf ring to get it to mount correctly.

A six-inch speaker fits nicely in the door frame opening with just four holes drilled for mounting. Use spacers such as rubber grommets to separate the speaker frame from the mounting points.

I have a pic of my CDT Woofer in my locker so you can get an idea as well. I basically just traced the shape of the metal bracket and used wood.
