And they've gotten better with sedans such as this sedan which cannot only go beat a 911 in acceleration but also go toe to toe in handling.
Sure it would probably be pretty pricey if put into production, but I bet it would be a hit with wealthly "more evironmentally minded" celebs and millionares. If you don't know what to use to translate it use this or this. |

I remember hearing about this before. Wasn't its top speed something likw 90 mph?

Whoa.... I guess I haven't checked back lately. Last time I checked their site, there was only one model, with a very small driving range, which topped out at pretty low speeds. It would still beat a Viper, but it definitely didn't have a great top speed.

It has a tow option gas/electric generator
it scoots from 30 to 50 mph in only 1.4 seconds Range 100 miles at 60 mph tested 0 to 60 in 4.68 seconds and a 13.7 quarter mile

One was created for best top speed or Type A while the other is for best accerlation, which is the Type B shown below. Type A 1/4 mile: 15.3 skipad: 0.4G top speed: 249mph range: 124 miles Type B 1/4 mile: 11.3 skipad: 0.8G top speed: 118mph range: 200 miles Even though I admit the TZero is more practical in a traveling sense since it can tow gas generator that recharges. But also they are only starting road tests with the Eliica as seen in their blog. Either way both the TZero and Eliica show that electric cars can have a future in terms of performance. Now they can primarily focus on creating more efficient fuel cells. Last edited by Weebitob; 09-27-2005 at 10:05 PM. |

more specs, 200K+ price tag
tzero's torque peaks instantly, with 183 ft-lbs. available from 0 to 5,000 rpm.
AC Propulsion had made the tzero with lead-acid batteries since 1997, but this year released a revamped version with the kind of lithium-ion batteries used in laptop computers. The range, which increased to 280 to 300 miles from 100 miles per charge, now compares well with fuel cell cars.

I found out that the two types reprisent one model optimized for accerlation while the other is for top speed, according to
this article. Here is an article in english on the Eliica, which is short for Electric Lithium Ion Car. It turns out it can reach a top speed of 400kph (almost 249mph) for the top speed optimized Eliica which can do the 1/4 in 15.3 seconds and has a range of 124 miles, its power eight wheels you know. The acceleration optimzed Eliica can do the 1/4 in 11.3 as apposed to 15.3 but is hampered to 118mph, but has a far better range of almost 200 miles. I'm guess that the TZero shares more characteristics with the acceleration optimized Eliica. Last edited by Weebitob; 09-27-2005 at 10:02 PM. |

Also according to what I can understand from their site the Eliica seems to have a peak torque of about 590lbs at 12000rpms. However on their main sight they seem to categorize it as 100nm or 73.75lb torque x 8. I wonder if it has something to do with the transmission setup?
But they also seem to rate the electric engine with roughly 729hp at 5730rpms. Last edited by Weebitob; 09-27-2005 at 10:12 PM. |

Did I also mention that a consumer model could be out by 2008.
Sorry fou hijacking your thread. I wonder if we will ever see a race between the TZero and any of those two Eliicas? Last edited by Weebitob; 09-27-2005 at 10:27 PM. |

There is also the Venturi Fetish (who the hell named this???) which apparently runs about $650,000
Does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, top speed of about 100mph and has the equivilent of 300hp. Venturi Automobiles
