Full throttle miss

Passing a truck way out toward Red Rock Canyon. I hit full throttle and it was like the fuel was cutting off and on. Very bad.... I had to let off cause it sounded like it was trying to yank the tranny out with a crowbar.

It's not throwing any codes, and idles and drives normally. It's just a full throttle thing. (Which is rare for my middle aged world anyway.) I tried it a few more times, and it's consistant... It doesn't like full throttle.

Is my MAF about to give out? Is it that I don't drive it hard enough? In other words, is there truth to that "gotta blow da gunk out of it".?

yeah, fuel filters are never changed often enough.

I can't speak for a gas engine but for my diesel semi, when the fuel filter clogs up from cold weather or leaning the semi and sucking up the junk on the bottom of the tank the engine will just sputter at higher RPM's and give no power. The more it clogs the lower the RPM drops. I don't know if that's the problem but that's what I was thinking before I read the other reply's. Good Luck and keep us posted.

when's the last time you changed the spark plugs? WOT means max load on the plugs which can induce a high rpm miss...

Normally your right the tanks suck from the bottom but on my semi and alot of others out there the tanks are rotated within the straps so now the outlet is about 1 to 3 inches from the bottom. The reason tanks are rotated is for one of two reasons. The crossover line has been replaced with a shorter line and you have to rotate the tanks to make it fit or the body of the sleeper berth interferes with fueling the tanks (aftermarket chrome light assemblies that attach to the bottom of the sleeper berth are the main reason) and you have to rotate the tanks to get the fuel nozzel into the tanks. Then when your really leaned over (to the left in my case) the junk on the bottom of the opposite tank spills into the feed tank. Then when you are upright again, you suck the junk up untill it falls below the outlet. Otherwise your completely correct and I shouldn't have even mentioned that in my other post because it had nothing to do with why his filter would clog. Sorry for trying to cross diagnose diesel and gas engine problems, and good luck.
