Buying a 92 svx...But we have a few minor glitches to take care of

My buddy is selling me a 92 svx its been siting for about a year and when we went to take it for a ride it wouldnt go into gear...Now we had already moved it about 30 feet and it was fine...We also dont have any brake lights which i would think would be the reason it dosnt go into gear...But were not sure how the brake lighting system works...


We've checked the fuses under the dash... But we dont think that the Switch at the pedal is working...is there any way to check this??


Also he said that it shuts off for no reason at any given time...I said it sounds like an ignition wiring problem but ill have to wait till i drive it to see for my self...But if anyone has had simular problems let me know
