Exhaust Scraping
http://www.subaruparts.com/subaru.diag/2/i440-A.gif
Hi all, I was changing the oil and inspecting my o2 sensors yesterday when I noticed both of my front exhaust pipes are scraped and bent somewhat. The pipes I am talking about are directly between the exhaust headers and the catalytic convertors (where #7 and #14 attach in diagram) Does anyone know the part numbers for these? They are bent enough that I think it may hamper performance/emissions. Please Help!

To clarify, the pipes that the o2 sensors plug into, they are bent. What are they called, whatz the part number, and should I bother?

No, stock ride height, but I live out in the sticks, the last thing I remember scraping was a rather steep driveway incline, maybe a curb or two. There is no holes in it, each pipe on both sides are just bent in and have curb rash.

Those look like the precat pipes..your diagram should have the p/n on that website page from subaruparts.com or should be in the vicinity of that website page.
Are you throwing any C/E codes? |

I think you are looking for the exhaust manifold part numbers...the short elbow pipes that come from the block?
The p/n's I found are 14009AA001 and 14022AA000 They go into the converter assembly 44107PA240 which is the diagram you are looking at. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. thanks |

I'm with DoD...you'd have to hit pretty hard to actually bend the pipes. The heat sheilds definitely get bent up over the years and will not affect the exhaust system's performance. If the pipes are, in fact, bent up, then you're better off going to a custom exhaust shop and having new head pipes bent/welded up.
Check SVXFile's locker ("Harry's car") for the new system he just did for NEWSVX's car. -Bill
