After owning my SVX for 2 weeks........ I want another one!!

Man i see why some of you guys collect these things, i love it so much, it gets crappy mileage compared to my accord, but its a dream to drive and so much fun!!!

now i want one with less miles (preferably sub 100) so i can do a 5sp tranny swap to it, god that'd be awesome

mine that i just bought on a whim has some body damage to the rear below the brake lights on the right side, but other than that nearly flawless, but probably too many miles/not good enough condition to put money into, so ill now be on the lookout for one to maybe swap out my accord with

i moved out to CO for 2 months, and bought it so i could drive back instead of flying (you know, visit people on the way etc) and ended up getting an amazing deal on it, was going to get an xploder, really glad i didn't do that!

So yea, tons of snow out in steamboat, and snow where i live (madison WI) so yea, will be useful for sure!.

I wouldn't worry about the miles as much, as there's quite a few here with 300k+. Most die in accidents, I haven't heard of a single engine death that was not "inspired" by doing something like putting 12+psi into it... And if your planning a 5 speed swap, that's perfect, because the transmissions do tend to be the weak point in the drive train. Replace that, and you're good for another 120k+!

Like the guys said, yeah, it's catching!

Very happy you are pleased with your car, and not too surprised you are straight off looking for a newer model.

One thing you might also consider, which would possibly be cheaper than a 5 speed; everybody who has changed their transmission / final drive to 4.44 swears by the performance and are getting few if any problems.

If you are hell bent on buying another car, then you should consider buying a converted 4.44 car, and driving it for a while to see how you like it.

[If you are one of those who feels he will only be going fast with a stick shift, ignore the last suggestion and buy a good car with damaged auto]

Win win situation either way.

I can't wait

Hello

Great to hear. NOw I really can't wait till I get mine-end of this month. Enjoy it.

I'd say of you are looking to do a % speed swap I'd say from what I have seen here in posts is that these cars can do lots of miles. As well, if you will want to buy a car with less than 100K on it those are more expensive and I would keep those original. Its the higher miles cars that would make them worth moding out since they (likes yours) can be had cheaply. As well there is a black one in the for sale section that already has the swap done going for 4500$ which looks to be in good shape and very fair in price. I think that a proper swap would cost more than what he is asking for the entire car. Then clean yours up, and sell if for more than you paid.

well i would put some cash into this car, but its got way to many "little" things wrong with it to bother with, ill take a look at the one in the FS section, if its already got a 5sp swap. mine has ~3k$ worth of body damage in the rear alone (apparantly damaged the trunk latch behind it)
