What's involved in replacing a front SVX fender?
Hello
I would like to know what is involved in replacing a front SVX fender? Also would either side be the same process. Particularly, I am wanting to know if the process is a simple bolt off and bolt on process or is there more to it? Is there any welding involved? Is there a double inner layer or anything like that? I'd like to know just how much of the original car needs to be messed with? Thanks in advance, Max |

No welding, just a bunch of bolts. IMO, the hardest part is popping off the plastic rivets that hold the lower vinyl cladding to it in front of the door.

Has to be easier than getting the fender off a Peugeot! Bloody French weren't content with just using bolts (Two of which are nuts on the BACK side of the fender you have to crawl under the dash to get to!) they had to GLUE the bloody thing on to the car, and not just the little bit of sealer goo at the top, no, we're talking like, construction adhesive, up the wheel arch, across the top, and down the front. Pain in the $*@&%!

theres two boltts under the lower cladding, 4 scross the top, and two more behind the corner light. Also theres one in the door jamb, as well as a few clips for the cladding that need to be popped out CAREFULLY to acess all the bolts
The process is the same for both sides Check the area behind the damge to the fender to make sure everything is as it should be, and when placing the new fender on, get all the bolts started and finger tight...just tight enough to where you can move the fender around and it stay where you put it. next, slowly close the hood and door. Push the fender around as needed, then open the hood and door and tighten the bolts. Double check everythings placment before putting the cladding and corner light back on
