ABS control unit
I went to svxipedia to check about abs codes. It says the control unit is under the right front seat. I checked and they're is nothing there. I have a 95 L model. Could someone please tell me where to look for this. The abs on the dash is staying on. When I shut the engine off the abs module under the hood continues to make a noise like it is running. I had the same thing happen around two years ago and disconnected the battery and the relay fuse under the hood and the problem just went away. That procedure is not working this time. Thanks.
Mike

Re: ABS control unit
Mike
It's underneath the carpet behind the raised crossbeam. It is on the extreme right. It must be there. You will probably have to release the carpet from under the trim to get access to it. It has to be there. Joe

Re: ABS control unit
What you have described sounds like a possible bad relay. They are usually two types, always on or always off.
Sounds like yours is sticking. Joe

Re: ABS control unit
Thanks Joe for the quick reply. I'll go check again under the seat to access the code after driving it a few minutes of course.

Re: ABS control unit
There is a small flap cut into the carpet to allow access to the code light. I'm not sure, it may be possible to see it with the seat in place, but to find it the first time, I'm sure it will be easier to remove the seat (5 x 14mm bolts).

Re: ABS control unit
You are right Dave, I should have mentioned that.
Take the seat out. Joe

Re: ABS control unit
I found the unit under the seat. I took the seat out but really didn't need to. I am getting a #9 code. Nine blinks. Faulty motor and/or motor relay or broken or shorted harness. Could the problem still be the relay in the fuse box under the hood? BTW the car drives fine with no problems. I just disconnect the battery when not driving so I don't drain my battery. Any guidance on this appreciated.
Mike
