So I went to a car meet last night...

And ran into a guy parting out his WRX. Said I'd get his transmission, rear, axles, driveshaft, master/slave cylinders, and pedals for $300. He said anything else I'd need from that too. What else should I take? The starter? It'll only be at his house for another week.

Is the car stolen or what is wrong with the tranny? I can find WRX trans for 250-400 but they all have blown 2nd gears.....

Re: So I went to a car meet last night...

It was in an accident and insurance totalled the car and claimed no fault for any of the drivers involved. He's parting the hell out of it and then sending it to the scrapper. The only thing wrong with the transmission is the 1st gear synchro, but he said he'd put it in if I bought it, which I will before I take it. The guy was a Subaru tech for a few years before he got laid off.
