there's this adorable little base hyundai accent 3-door at the dealership i frequent that they are only asking like $8800 for. it doesn't have a radio or a/c and these knobs you have to crank to get the windows roll up and down. did i mention it's adorable?

It's a 97. Fix it and send your sister the bill. Also, check with your insurance as you pay to insure the car, not just you as the driver.

well the body shop called, and asked if i want to continue because it was bypassing the "total loss" point
right now he says its 90% appraised and the cost is $5800 he also said it will need a rear bearing (big suprise there) and a front strut, and it needs a serious toe alignment (steering wheel was at 90 degrees) but he hadnt added those costs into it... i will be picking her up with the paperwork tonight he did mention how nice of a parts car it would be though so im still torn on the fix her or sell her or part her end she is a 97 afterall

i cant believe they are saying it would be almost 6g's to fix that. That makes my car look like it was driven off a cliff. I would definitely fix it unless there is something that isnt viewable to us on the forum. I would definitely fix it.

The cost is so high because they can't get aftermarket parts so they get OEM. And I took a look at the flat rate hours for our cars and they give 2hrs to paint ONE fender, it gets worse on others that's why most of our cars get totaled.

Yep, that is the sad truth.
My '95 almost got totaled after being backed into at probably 5mph.... All that was needed was a new passenger side headlight and turn signal, the upper radiator support to be pulled out half an inch (if that), and some small dings on the hood repaired and then fenders/hood/bumper repainted. Dustin
