5spd swap brake related question.

i couldnt find toms write up for the 5spd swap. so my question is, im ordering up some stuff for the swap tomorrow before work, but im not absolutely sure if i need to order a brake booster/master cyl along with my pedal assembly and clutch slave/master. if so, does it have to match the pedal set im ordering?

Depends on how you're doing your pedals...

Re: 5spd swap brake related question.

You can modify the rod that engages the brake master cylinder to still use the SVX booster...

Re: 5spd swap brake related question.

I can't remember if the rod needs to be shortened of lengthened but it is just a cut and weld back together at the right length. (or possiably the rod from the car the pedal box came from could be the right length...I haven't done one with a hydro clutch, so maybe someone that has will chime in...

Re: 5spd swap brake related question.

I used a different booster (wrx iirc), but I am fairly certain that the rod on the stock booster needs shortened. Cut or grind it down and cut some new threads and you should be good to go.
