Re: CEL code 24, stuck in limp home mode :(

How's that famous grounding point at the RH rear of the intake manifold?

The shift signal wire from the TCU to the ECU? Or do you have a manual conversion?

Nope just the ole 4eat. What ground are you referring to? I have 2 grounds. One to the strut tower "passenger side/left side looking into the windshield", and one directly to the battery ground I added myself.

Re: CEL code 24, stuck in limp home mode :(

I swapped my older crank sensors for a newer spare set, but still no dice. My rev limit keeps moving, at first it was at 1500rpm, then it was at 2000, and at one point it got up to 3,000rpm. Now it's back down to 2500ish.

I'm at a total loss as to why this is happening.

Re: CEL code 24, stuck in limp home mode :(

Are you meeting the "rev limiter" just by revving it in neutral or by actually driving it?

This might not be easy to figure out, because of all the wiring work that was done in the swap.

Re: CEL code 24, stuck in limp home mode :(

Either 'p', 'n', or 'd' I'm able to hit ignition cut. I understand your stance about the wiring aspect. At the same time it's been fine for the last year, and if it were a wiring issue, I'd imagine it wouldn't idle as perfectly as it does.

Not ruling it out, but I've dove into the wiring for the last two days, nothing is loose and nothing is worn through/grounding out.

Yea that is odd.

Re: CEL code 24, stuck in limp home mode :(

Yep, which is why I posted both here and on rs25. I'm kinda out of ideas as to what could cause this.

I've only been in limp mode twice. Once was due to misfire, another was due to my VSS wire coming undone. This doesn't seem like limp mode though. If I didn't know better, I'd call it valet mode.

Re: CEL code 24, stuck in limp home mode :(

Issue fixed. A bit of water had worked its way into my 4 engine control plugs. Some WD-40 and some blow action by my blow hole and it runs like a champ.

Some part of me wants to kill myself, and another part of me wants to jump for joy.
Thanks everyone who took two minutes to type up their ideas, I appreciate your time and help!

Re: CEL code 24, stuck in limp home mode :(

put some dielectric grease in them so it doesn't happen again. Learn from us here in New England. Dielectric grease in every electrical connection and anti-seize on every bolt in existence. I even spray the outside of my coilovers with a silicone lube just to keep corrosion away as long as possible.
