need voltage and such
is there anyone who has voltage and ohmage values for engine sensors for my 92 svx, i need to check the CAS, and CRank angle sensor, thanks

You didn't just recently have the timing belt changed did you? A misaligned belt will also cause those fault codes.

ummm
i will have mike test the sensors, he seems to think it isnt the belt, becuase the day it happened..(stopped running), it did the no run thing for around an hour, then u could start it but then it was like running on 3 cylinders, then all of a sudden it ran great for a few hours, then it happened all over again...he said, if its the belt, it wouldnt have got better for a while and ran good, then just happen again, does that semm right to u guys??

As somebody who has just come through the thorough testing of the sensors only to discover that timing belt jumped ~10 teeth I can testify that:
1. The cam and second crank sensors are inductive type (coil), resistance is 1.5kohm. When you wave a magnet or a significan metal object (heavy duty 3 hole punch will do) in vicinity of a sensor, you should see resistance change. You should also see voltage generated - Subaru spec is 0.1 volts, don't know the speed or the distance required to achieve the spec, but my 3 hole punch could do up to 0.15-0.2 volts if moved quickly enough. 2. I did have a rough starting problem in the morning when the car died, after initial minute or two of bad misfiring it started to run fine and run perfectly well for an hour. Then it would not start at all. I never found the cause of the timing belt jump. |
