JDM Parts Rant...

All right.

I got a couple of emails from some members asking me where the parts are. The last time I heard about the parts, the clear corners were on back order in Japan. That is totally out of my control. I just said I will order the parts as a group and have them drop shipped to your house/office. I never said they will get to you in two weeks. I told people that in the previous orders, they got to me at most in 3 weeks. When parts are in back order (even in Japan) they will take longer. I am not trying to scam you people. I have my reputation to protect and I have better things to do than scam someone off 100 bucks.

If people dont get their parts by next weekend, I will call Japan and ask what is happening (out of my own pocket)

I have said before that I will order parts for people every month. I am going to take that back. I was doing this as a service to everyone here. I am not a shop. If you people want parts next day, go get it from Dayle or any other import shop. There is a higher price tag for that but you will get it the next day. It's your call. I just order parts for people. I don't stock them.

I dont know what I can say but to offer support. Your ordering parts from japan was a great service that people from the network that are 'bugging' you didnt really seam to understand. I'm sorry that a few bad apples spoiled the whole thing.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you have ordered parts from Lwin, you will (with Ol' Southern emphasis)"by god" get your parts. I know Lwin to be a man of his word. I'll vouch for him, 100%. Don't be impatient, folks, and screw something up for others, just because you're used to "getting fries with that" immediately.

The first time a group buy was done for a Japanese part, it was done for a few JDM hood badges (in 2000, I believe). It took the fellow months to get the details together, then, another few weeks to get the parts and another few weeks to get them out (he was moving from one house to another while in the midst of ordering the parts). So, be patient, folks, and be nice to people who are trying to help you out. DO NOT (I REPEAT) DO NOT equate, longstanding members of this club with scam artists. I could understand if this were a New, unestablished member, but, I won't stand for having "stalwarts" of this community dissed.

I greatly appreciate that you did this for us... otherwise I don't know if I'd ever be able to get this stuff. I knew we were getting rare parts from Japan so I just never expect to get them within my lifetime... so them I'll be happy when they arrive.

I know you said you won't do this again, but what if you had a signup sheet that people could get on and if there were enough people at some point, you could consider another order? Thanks for your efforts Lwin.

Thank you for all of your unselfish time and efforts. I would agree that it is too bad that some of the members didn't understand the time lines on this. No, I don't have my stuff yet, but there is no free lunch here. It may take a little more time, but at least we will be able to get the parts for a fair price. I know that you are not taking advantage of the members. It is too bad that this had to happen. Thanks again Lwin.

I'm in no rush for any of the items I ordered from Lwin. I figure they get here whenever they get here.

I would even pay a little bit extra just to make it worth Lwin's time.

I got a friend to source a RHD visor for the driver side of my ICBP in Japan.

They were out of stock, had to be sourced back from the dealer network. Took two months, and delivery from Gunma to me by post took 5 days.

All I can say is have patience. Lwin is doing a great job to get the stuff.

I didn't order anything from you. But I understood your role in this process. It's a shame if others don't. I would suggest, since you originally had enough interest (for yourself) to do this, is just don't order for the people who caused you to rant. It's sad when things turn out this way.

I have also experienced small delays in ordering parts from the japanese source that Lwin uses. Some items ate temporaily or else there are other things (Japanese holidays, etc.)

Masao is diligent ininforming me of delays and back orders. In all the orders I have made for hood emblems and clear corners maybe only 2 were delayed (usually less than a week)

I orderedan Alcyone SVX owners manual which took the longest to locate but that was still a two week delay.

I thoroughly echo Randy's support of Lwin. People have given me the same support and neither of us would ever jeopardize our reputations here, or the friendships and bonds we have created over the years, to scam a few hundred bucks!

I also hold the same level of respect and integrity for Masao Kato, the middleman between Our network and Subaru of Japan.

Lwin - after seeing this support and the feelings of the members here, I would hope you would rethink this decision of stopping this valuable service. I do not have anything that I need right now, but would hope I could get something else in the future when needed. Most of us here know that this is a family and we all need to support each other in many different ways. I would cut off my right arm (I'm left handed

) before I would betray some one here. Please rethink this decision, even if you only order 2 or 3 times a year instead of every month. Thanks

It's not just you SVXnCO.

I may do it again but I am not too sure at this point. The thing is I can just give you the contact info. You can go through what I went through and part prices would cost you a little more. If you do a group order, the comission rate goes down and save you a couple of bucks more. Just try to be patient. The parts will be there. shortly (i hope)
