Slow off the start?
Whats with all the talk of our cars being slow off the start? I was chillin at a red light on Mcknight road last night and what I think was a Mustang came flying up right next to me (I guess he was in a hurry to get to the red light). Anywho, he revs his engine, I look over and smile cuz this sort of thing never happens to me (I always read about it though). So i'm like 'awe hell nah." It was just he and I on the road, so I was happy to have a little fun.
Light turns green, I gun it, he guns it, and my ears are basically bleeding from both our engines, side by side, screaming out in sheer orgasmic bliss. I look over and dont see him through my passenger window, so I was atleast half a car length ahead of him up until 50 mph, when I backed off. He tried to get me to go a few more times further down the road, but I had won. Same thing happened to me against a passat last year. I realize i'm not racing lamburginis or whatever, but every car I've come up against has had nothing on my svx from the line. So, in comparision to what are our cars slow off the line? |

those dragsters are no problem for my SVX. I lose to pretty much everything off the line. Except for say beaters, of course. I take everyone on at about 50mph plus. My favorite method is rolling up to a car, like a "hooked up" Cavalier and waiting for them to take off and put it into "2", and taking off. Its kinda fun.

i cant ever remember beating anything off the line that wasnt a truck or suv. even that fiero was right there til 60 when i passed it, and the tranny blew out a few days later. seriously.
well, there was two. one was my friends spec v when we peeled out massively, and the other i cannot mention in good conscience. those who know, you know.

i really dont know. it depends and you, the driver, your mods, his mods. i could take my friends spec when he was new at driving it, but it IS a 6 spd, and puts torque right to the ground. i think his runs 15.2, with 100% traction.
