Do SVX owners wave to other Subies?

Just curious if you guys bother waving to other Subies ever. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, because I uderstand most new owners especially, (read: WRX) probably wouldn't recognize an SVX if you ran him over.

So do you just keep it "in the family" so to speak and wave to other SVX owners?

Reason being, the other day I come up on a car that I quickly identify as an SVX. 'Neat', I think, "Don't see too many of those." I also noticed it appeared to be modded a bit, so I figured he was an enthusiast so I pull up beside the guy and wave. He looks over and looks at me and just kinda stares for a sec, and looks back. I think he might have been trying to see if he recognized me or something, then just figured I was crazy.

What color was it, and what were you driving?

It was a black SVX, if my memory serves me right. It was on Rt. 100.

I was driving a silver STi. It pretty distinctive as a Subaru.

Yup. I was just about to shoot you a PM, too. Wasn't sure if it was you though.

P.S. What gave me away?

Look out for oversteer! That looks pretty nice, I can't wait to see it in person. Does it need work, or does it run OK now?

I drive a bla....ebony SVX. I use Rt. 100 on a daily commute, & if you count pinstripes as a mod, it's modded.

However, for the last two weeks I've been driving a Nissan 240SX. But....a couple days ago I noticed a Silver STi on my tail, & as it exited to I 95 south, it pulled parallel & the guy looks at me.

Now.... to make things REALLY wierd....I actually KNOW Rufus!

I don't wave at other Subaru drivers, unless they wave at me. Most other Subaru drivers (around here, anyway) don't recognize the SVX as a Subaru.

Of course, I don't wave at other SVX owners around here, either. Reason being, THERE ARE NONE! Well, I won't say NONE, but, I can count, on one hand, the number of SVXes I've seen on the streets around here, none of them within "waving" range. Okay, there WAS one. An elderly gentleman. I was sitting beside him at a stop light. When I waved at him, he looked at me, emotionless, then, looked straight ahead. Obviously, not an "enthusiast."

Well, this would have been last Thurs. sometime around 3pm . Because of traffic, I never got a real good look at the car. I just know it was a dark car, had tint I think, and some window stickerZ.

Lord knows if it had 'real' mods though. I couldn't really tell, and I don't know SVX's well enough to judge things like fender gap at a quick glance.

The guy driving was younger, and appeared to be non-caucasian as well.

And yea, I rarely see SVX's either. I can count on one hand the number of SVX's I've seen in person or driving around. (4)

Always wave & ...

typically get looked at as if I was crazy, or some sort of stalker.

I have a '92 SVX Teal, there are several SVX's running around Roanoke, Va. I know of 3 I see regularly. 1-White,1-Ebony & 1-Red. Most times when I wave I can see the "Holy @#$%!!! That car is just like mine "

I also have a '03 WRB WRX Wagon. There are several WRX's in Roanoke, as we have a local club. Lot more WRX's than members.
Typically the reaction is one of being ignored. I don't think some drivers are very aware of anything except the world directly in front of them.

I was driving to work the other day [in WRX] & noticed a WRB WRX sedan, '04 [new headlights] coming up fast. He tailed me long enough to see the decal on the rear window for the Blue Ridge Subaru Club, then pulled out around. As he came along side, I looked over and waved. He never even turned his head to acknoweldge my existance.

Some people...

Anyway, waving never hurts & makes the world a better place...
I always wave....

DEATH TO RUDE PEOPLE !!!

I really don't wave at other Subaru owners... cause here in Salt Lake just about every other car seems to be a Subaru.... I wave (and honk) at other SVX owners.... but they usually just stare back blankly... I even put cards in windows of other SVXin... But I don't think I have any converts yet.... I can't even get the other SVX owner here at the hotel to check out the website since he first joined up....

I wave only at SVX's. I figure why bother waving at other Subarus....they are just so common these days (sorta like Neon's), esp. around here.

There are a fair number of SVX's around here tho, and I have turned a few to our www.nwsvx.com site, but I doubt any have become members.

I wave to all svx and wrx and 2.5rs and xt's and brats and older wagons.

Ok
should have said, I normally dont wave at legacies or outbacks unless they wave, but I usually stare at them just to check.
