Escaine replacement

I stopped at an auto upholstry shop this afternoon to check out the possibility replacing the escaine on my door panels.

We found a product that was an almost exact match and he gave me a quote of ~$100 to do both doors. Not sure if I'm going to get them done yet, as I do have one decent set. But, I thought I would post this if anyone else was interested.

hmmm... I forgot to mention that huh?

Ultrasuede - Made by Tapis Corporation.

According to the shop I stopped at it is used a lot in custom aircraft interiors.

Google gave me this...

Go to upholsery cleaners for cars. Those guys hang around used car lots). They can clean the whole interior (including seats for cracks) for less than 100.

you could or you could do it yourself

my svx does not have the ecsaine (which is not the same as the microsuede btw but close) and i wish that it did, when i got the 2.5rs i decided that i was going to do the ecsaine (microsuede) treatment to it. for about 30 dollars in fabric i have the armrests glove box and basically the same stuff as the svx has but it's impreza equivilant covered and it looks good

it is time consuming, but the fabric is about 9 dollars a yard at your average fabric store (jo ann's for me)
