Classic SVX
Trunk Struts & bike rack

My trunk is a mousetrap, and since I have desided to fix up my car, this is one of those things I would like to fix. I am sure this has been asked before but, Is there a way to rebuild the trunk struts?
Also has anyone ever mounted a bike rack on the rear end of an SVX? If I would mount one would I have to remove the spoiler? And any suggestions on making sure not to damage the paint? Or is there a certain type of bike rack I should get over another type?

As far as I know, there is no way to rebuild gas filled hood/trunk struts. Also there are no substitutes for our trunk struts, whereas u can get a couple for front hood struts.

Check in this thread for Napa parts...

There is a way to rebuild them. Send them down under where such a service is available among the real fix anything brigade.

A good kiwi answer. In point of fact the wheels will have less forward resistance as you have them. Mine were on that way after a tyre change and it did not bother me. Brakes did not complain about lack of cooling as far as i remember.
