They're prolly safer than my tires which have zero tread left and the rear p/s tire has a large screw in it and the front d/s tire has the biggest bolt I've ever seen stuck in it...sounds like my car has tap shoes on
 But they still grip and I'm not losing air...they're Yokohamas by the way. I am so impressed I'm gonna have to write those guys a letter

lol, ya 18" summers...not so good. One of the Foresters has Yoko Avid's on it, worst "all season" tire ever in the snow.
