Re: i think my tranny gave out...?

I'd have it put up on a lift and checked at a shop to make sure it's your front differential and not just a cv axel or u joint. If it is in fact your differential I would suggest getting a quote for a removal and reinstallation and getting a upgraded/rebuilt transmission from me. I can either rebuild that one but don't expect your core charge back or just send you a different transmission (and of course don't expect your core charge back).

Re: i think my tranny gave out...?

You should really only get a manual transmission if you want a manual transmission. It is not the easy/inexpensive fix. Once modified the automatic is a better unit and what the car is actually designed for. The car idles better with an automatic, it stops better with the automatic (particularly when abs is engaged), and is faster with the automatic.

A manual transmission swap is a big project most garages won't touch. One of my partial rebuilds will last longer than the rest of your car, perform better than you could imagine if you haven't driven one, and any decent shop can easily get the old one out and the new one in and you on your way in 3/4 of a day.

Re: i think my tranny gave out...?

From what you say it's bad enough any decent shop should give you the right answer pretty quickly with it up on a lift.
