Dynomat or similar

Anyone used any types of insulation to lower road noise? After installing all-metal coilovers, road noise has become a bit obnoxious. I think using dynomat would be best, but it's way too expensive. A lot of people say they use that peel n stick stuff from Lowes or Home Depot because it's affordable. Anyone here used anything similar? I also don't want anything that produces a fowl odor...

B-Quiet from Canada is cheaper and reports like it as well as Dynamat

Re: Dynomat or similar

I used a ton of these products.... they performed very well in a comparison test (Dynamat + others).

http://stp-distribution.com/ (made in Russia (!) and may not be available in the US).

So far I've done only backwards from under the rear seat (20 kg of material), but with very good result. Tire noise was reduced significantly.

I also used the SPL polyurethane foam (10mm) behind all trim panels. No rattles.

Re: Dynomat or similar

The stuff from Home Depot was discussed at length on the CR-Z forum when I was an owner. DON'T USE IT! On a hot day your car will smell like a roof getting re-tarred and the stuff will start to peel off. It wasn't meant to be put in cars.
